New video about old car recycling:
A look behind the scenes

We are pleased to present our new video on end-of-life vehicle recycling. It offers an exciting insight into the entire recycling process – from the vehicle’s final use to the recovery of valuable raw materials.

On the second day of filming, we welcomed the film crew to our site in Knittelfeld. Markus Rathmayer guided the team throughout the day, explaining each step of the recycling process. The day began with fog, but the skies soon cleared, allowing us to capture some truly impressive footage.

The beginning of the film takes viewers on an emotional journey through the life of a car. Scenes from the vehicle’s past convey the memories and experiences it has gathered over its lifetime. But at the end of this journey, we turn off the ignition and begin the recycling process.

At our shredding site in Knittelfeld, the car is brought into a modern recycling facility, where it is efficiently dismantled into its individual components. Using the latest technology, we recover valuable raw materials such as iron, aluminum, and copper, which are reused in the production of new products. In this way, we make an important contribution to conserving resources and reducing CO₂ emissions.

With over 300 dedicated employees at 16 locations across Austria, we are committed to sustainable practices and a circular economy that promotes environmental protection. Using one ton of scrap metal in steel production saves up to 1.4 tons of CO₂ and actively contributes to reducing environmental impact.

The video clearly shows how the end of a car can lead to new possibilities — for a sustainable and resource-conscious future.

Special thanks go to Markus Rathmayer for his dedicated support of the film crew on site.
